Hurricane Harps has just introduced a 32 Note Student Melodica to its line of harmonicas and woodwind instruments. The Melodica is a unique instrument in that it has a piano keyboard but plays by blowing air through the mouthpiece and over a reed similar to a harmonica. You can have lots of fun with this great instrument that is often used to teach music education to young students. It is light enough to carry around and very easy to play.As usual, Hurricane Harps has a great product at a reasonable price, comparable to similar instruments costing twice as much.Give it a try!

Hohner Student Melodica, 32 Key Review

Hohner Student Melodica, 32 Key
Average Reviews:

In this price range you aren't going to find a better melodica. Great instrument to learn on or to have around to add spice to your home recordings. It doesn't come with any instructions, but all you do is insert one of the two included mouth pieces. One is short, one is long. With the short one you hold the instrument with one hand (slide your hand under the strap) and play with the other. With the long bendy straw mouthpiece you can set the melodica on a table and play it like a small keyboard. Good sound and easy to play. Have fun.

Piano Accordion 17 Keys Blue Review

Piano Accordion 17 Keys Blue
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To begin, I was given a $20 Schylling children's accordion by a friend and it sounds truly amazing, like I'm in Venice going through the streets. The only problem was that a few notes were seriously screwed up. So I thought, "Great, I'll buy a new one and it'll have keys instead of buttons." I figured you couldn't screw up an accordion and I ordered this one.
The word wrong is not strong enough, the accordion was sent in a very used and beaten up box, with "BL" written in marker on one side. There is a Chinese girl on the box playing the accordion as happily as a child can play accordion with a gun pointed at them. The brand is not D' Luca, but is "Accordion" and as you know, "UC 104 accordion make by specially design and is a new produce for children." You also can't forget, "These instrument is an ideal toy for children". The instruction booklet, or rather the "OPERATION INETRUCTIONS", is a piece of comic genius, for instance: "HOW TO HOLD THE ACCRDION - Put the leather strap on shoulder when playing. The right-hand are employed in manipulating the keys.pushing and pulling are effected by the left wrist during performance and the palm is engaged in supporting the bottom of the instrument In the course of pushing and pulling." Another favorite is, "Press the key with the first and second finger of the right hand, and the two notes 1 and 2 (dol and re) will be produced by successive pushing and pulling bellows in the same manner press all the key exrecise repeat." And everyone knows, "Any kind of finger methed must quick in action than accompaniment are success."
Now to the sound, imagine, if you will, a bus' brakes scraping mixed with the Chinese girl on the box singing and that would be close to the sound. When you push and pull there are supposed to be 2 different notes that get played, not on this accordion - they are basically identical. Usually with an instrument if you play two or three notes together it creates a rich and resounding chord, this accordion sounds like two or three busses are trying to stop before they hit the Chinese girl. The bass buttons are set up to where you generally have to hit two at a time (the instructions say you're supposed to hit 2), this adds depth, but very much so overwhelms the other notes. I was also under the impression that I had ordered the blue accordion with the holographic fish scale stuff on it, but instead got the basic blue (very much so could've been my fault). I just sent an e-mail to the senders requesting a full refund, I hope that goes well, I'll update this review if it's a hassle to return.
All in All - Only buy this product for your child if you hate them and yourself.
I'd rather leave on a high note, so here you go, "The advantage of the Midget 8 Bass isnew-style that it is easy to play for children. Which key and bassare select specific, read, accurate accent, fine timbre, sonosousvolume. It' s bass with pull and push produce different scale arrangement. Io learn the use of fingers methed able to lay a good fundation from now on also for play large one." I certainly feel as if I was purposely screwed over, but my fundation is tremoring with laughter.

Hohner S32R - Red Student Melodica Review

Hohner S32R - Red Student Melodica
Average Reviews:

This instrument is fantastic! I've wanted a melodica for a very, very long time and finally decided to purchase this one (after hours and hours of research) the other day. A lot of reviews said to go with Hohner and boy were they right! This does not disappoint! It's super easy to use and fun to play, but doesn't sound like a cheap toy. I've never played an instrument with keys before (strictly strings) and the ease with which I picked this up was incredible. There are no batteries and there's nothing to tune. It's probably the best purchase I've made in a long time.

Hohner S32 Melodica Student Piano Review

Hohner S32 Melodica Student Piano
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This melodica is nice because it's cheaper than Hohner's fancy professional models. And you don't lose much, it seems: it sounds like a melodica should sound, and it can be played with a reasonable degree of musicality, even by a novice like myself. The instrument comes with a little gig bag and two mouthpieces (a short one and a flexi-tube one). The construction and materials are of acceptable quality, I have no complaints.
Those of us with finicky ears are going to want to have this thing tuned, though. Music stores dealing in folk instruments ought to be able to do this, for a fee, or one can find DIY tuning instructions on the internet. Although the instrument is *mostly* in tune with itself, it will almost certainly need to be adjusted in order to play along with other chromatic instruments, or your Gang of Four records, or whatever. All that said, this would be a good instrument for the amateur musician or student to learn on. I keep it around for doodling and songwriting, and I use it on a home recording every now and then (whenever I feel like spending my time doing post-production pitch correction).
One final (miscellaneous) note: the sonic frequencies produced by this melodica are apparently unpleasant for cats to hear: mine get agitated and start to complain when I play it for them. I don't know if it's melodicas in general or just this one, but they don't like it. Anyone have any insight into this?

The Melodica is so easy to play that many educators use it for teaching the rudiments of harmony, chord formation, theory, and for choral work. You can play chords and single notes, sharps and flats just like a piano, but within a smaller range.

This is a great first piano for your little one. The sound isn't Piano quality but it's great to learn simple songs. My daughter has had it a month and has learned to play mary had a little lamb.
Grant she can't play it on a real piano because the cheat notes are not on the keys but she's only 2 1/2.
It's a really cute toy piano! I would buy it again. Well made and looks great.
