Casio PX130 Privia Keyboard with CS67 Keyboard Stand Review

Casio PX130 Privia Keyboard with CS67 Keyboard Stand
Average Reviews:

I agree with the reviews that discuss the feel and the sound, truly remarkable for such an entry level piano, you could not possibly be disappointed. For $449 up here in Canada it included the stand and the three pedals and a fairly substantial four legged padded stool. The total package is very sturdy if you put it together properly. I have no idea where the $800+ price tag mentioned on this site comes from. I give it five stars and thank Costco for marketing it at a fantastic price, amazing value. Not a toy, not polished ebony, but a really inexpensive entry level digital piano that sounds and feels very impressive. Yes it's a Casio folks, get over it, accept the fact that they have just moved the bar to a new level.

Casio CTK-5000-STAD 61-Key Digital Music Keyboard Review

Casio CTK-5000-STAD 61-Key Digital Music Keyboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
we just got this a few days ago, and are very happy with it. The sound is very realistic for piano, and the action feels good. We were using an older borrowed keyboard, and were pleasantly surprised at the playablility and sound quality.
we bought from JR, because at the time it was slightly cheaper than Amazon, even with shipping, but the price has gone up.
This keyboard came with a stand, probably a $20 value, which is a bonus. It shows it in the picture, but not in the product description. We just had to get a bench and we were set.
We've just started exploring the settings. The first we adjusted was the touch sensitivity, which makes it louder the harder (technically, the faster) you hit the key, like a real piano. It has 3 setting choices: off, 1, and 2, with 2 being most sensitive. On 2 there is a pretty wide range of volume with key stroke, from very quiet on up, mimicking a real piano; not just quiet and loud.
Its still new to us, but we are very pleased with what we got for the money.

Learning to play the piano gets even easier and, once you learn, the opportunities to play, create, and store your music becomes virtually unlimited with the Casio CTK-5000. With Casio's intuitive Step-Up Lesson system, songs are divided into short, easy-to-master phrases making it easy for just about anyone to learn to play. After you master a phrase you advance to the next one. With this new lesson function, you keep building up your collection of mastered phrases and soon you are able to play the entire song. All built-in tones, including piano and acoustic instrument tones, now sound better than ever before! 48-tone maximum polyphony provides plenty of margin to minimize the chance of notes being dropped when tones are layered and when playing with Auto Accompaniment. Yamaha YPT400MS Portable Electronic Keyboard with 61 Full Size Touch Sensitive Keys and Keyboard Stand Review

Yamaha YPT400MS Portable Electronic Keyboard with 61 Full Size Touch Sensitive Keys and Keyboard Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I did a lot of research before ordering this piano. Even so, I was very surprised at how much was included for this price. A WONDERFUL Yamaha digital piano with many fantastic features. The stand. The AC adapter. Even free lessons on music theory on a CD to get you started. Throw in all of the voices, sounds, songs, and ability to interface with a computer, and you have an unbelievable deal.
The only down side is that the software it comes with doesn't load on my Mac :-(, but since most things don't, I wouldn't downgrade it just for that. It interfaces with Garageband, which is the software I already use, so that's enough for me.
Oh, and talk about fun. I'm got this to practice my piano lessons at home, and the first day it came I had so much fun I went to bed with sore wrists. I kept trying out practicing my scales with different voices. I guess I'll have to "space out" my fun a little bit better in the future.

Full-Size 24-Note Polyphonic 61-Key Keyboard Review

Full-Size 24-Note Polyphonic 61-Key Keyboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although the higher-priced Casio wk-3000 has a good reputation, THIS keyboard (Casio CTK-593), I find is inferior to the Yamaha keyboard of the same price both in the sound and the way the notes resonate and the way the notes sound when played together or when you gradually move from one note to the other. I cannot find a sustain button onboard in case you don't have a sustain pedal. And there's no "portable grand” button like on the Yamaha. Instead, I have to manually push several buttons every time I turn it on to get the setting I want. However, when I was cleaning my Yamaha, I rubbed so hard (sideways) on the keys to clean them, 5 of them stopped working. So I will tolerate this Casio since it is touch sensitive and OK for learning. If I learn to play well however, I will upgrade to an 88 key weighted keyboard. I slightly prefer the touch of the keys of the Casio against the Yamaha because the Yamaha seemed to require a softer touch which made me feel totally odd on a real piano (once you‘re used to playing with a softer touch).

Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand Review

Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this stand because I need space for a volume pedal, sustain pedal, and rotary speaker effect on the floor, so the "X" style stands don't work for me. I have been using the "Z" style, but it took a long time to set up. This opens up immediately and is heavy duty. The only tradeoff is that it makes it somewhat awkward to carry, especially if you're not too tall. I put a bungee cord between the legs to keep them from swinging around. There is a little side-to-side play when it is all set up. I also bought the M-92 upper tier separately, and it seems they may have had different versions. The stand has a nut in the bottom of the frame while the second tier has the threads on the side. There was also no tool to adjust the second tier in the kit, but I found a couple metric screws, m8 x1.25 thread and the star drive screwdriver at the hardware store to complete my set up. So far so good.

Neither this listing nor Casio's web site mention if this cable includes an opto-isolator. Without it, you could have problems communicating between MIDI gear and your PC.

All of the keys work. However, using the item still takes some getting used to. The keys and the space bar have to be depressed with vigor. That causes multiple spaces along with multiple letters that have to be corrected which slows my typing. But since they damned near gave me the product I have no room to complain. What the Hell, I can't type that well any way.

this is the best 88 key controller I've used for all-around features in the sub$1000USD market. they keys aren't wobbly or cheap as another reviewer suggests, they feel like just about any other weighted synthesizer keyboard. velocity control can be tweaked to use different velocity curves, and the knobs, buttons, sliders, etc can all be assigned to custom midi messages. the editor software is not simple to use for a beginner, but allows alot of flexibility. I cannot comment on it's usb functionality as I have it connected to a midi timepiece.
I use this as my main controller in my "Budget" 20k studio. works great for just about everything that it's intended to do.

I am really happy that I bought this program as a plug-in for Pro-Tools. The sounds are really great. Most are perfect. My nephew who plays bassoon at Julliard thought the low woodwind samples were extremely accurate.
I am not as thrilled with the piano samples as I am with those I use in Reason, and there are no saxaphones. The combination of Reason and Miroslav give you an incredible package for classical and jazz work.
I use a GR-33 guitar synth and keybd as controllers. The GR-33 tracks beautifully with the synth engine. Not all programs can say that.
Buy it. You will not regret. If I could give it 4.9 stars, I would.

The Miroslav Philharmonik orchestra workstation from IK Multimedia combines the legendary Miroslav Orchestral and Choir sample collection masterpieces with a dedicated virtual instrument plug-in specifically tailored toward classical sounds and arrangements. They've set the atmosphere of hundreds of movies and productions and have become the tool of choice for many Oscar winning composers. This sound collection contains some of the most beautiful and lush sounding orchestral samples ever recorded, with plenty of feeling and emotion. Miroslav was able to bring out the rich character of symphonic music with a special sound that is unique and powerfully expressive. These sounds have a texture, warmth, and beauty that is unique in the sample world. Casio CS-65 Privia Keyboard Stand for Casio PX-110, PX-120, PX-310 and PX-320 Review

Casio CS-65 Privia Keyboard Stand for Casio PX-110, PX-120, PX-310 and PX-320
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I picked up a Casio PX-200 a few months ago but found myself not using it as much because I did not have a stand which was secure enough to hold the piano in place. The original plan was to use a small table but that idea went out the window once I received my Casio PX-200 and realized how wide the piano was. So I decided I should purchase a stand. I first decided I would purchase an X style stand but my wife and I have an infant who likes to touch everything in the house and knock things over so I was worried this would not be safe for my child. I did not want to pay so much money for a stand but in the end, I decided better safe than sorry so I saved up money and finally picked up the Casio CS-65 stand. Boy and I sure glad I did.
My Casio PX-200 has two covers on each side which comes off easily by simply removing a couple of screws on each side and pull off the covers. Once you do this, you simply then mount it the each side of the stand and put the screws back on so that it secure. The instructions were easy to follow. After I finished putting the stand together, I brought my son into the office and we let him go at it. He could not knock it down. It was pretty secure, even with him leaning against it. He enjoys playing the piano all the time now. My digital piano looks great with this stand and I am not worried about my son getting hurt.
Pros:
-Secure
-Makes the digital keyboard look fancyCons:
-Since the piano is screwed to each side of the stands, this means your digital piano is no longer portable. If you plan on travling with your digital piano, this is not the stand for you.
-Much more expensive than an X stand
Overall, I would highly recommend this if you have a compatible digital piano from Casio. I wish Casio did not charge so much for this stand but I don't regret my purchase at call.

My son who turned 2 the first of January has been attending a day care center where there is a Casio electric keyboard there. The provider has allowed him to play with the keyboard. Sometimes he plays on the keyboard for 45 minutes to an hour trying to sing, so when I saw that my first thouught was maybe he likes music so why not cultivate it. I purchased a Yamaha 235 for him for Christmasd and this stand with foot pedel. I was surprised of how sturdy it is and the fact that that he can climb up on the stool and play, he pushes all the buttons to change the music and trys to sing. Now everyday when I get home I encourage him to play and we have singalongs, we dont even turn on that stupid TV. I'm LOVING IT. Yamaha FC9 Dual Volume Foot Controller Review

Returning this, disappointed to find that it needs a 9v battery or an AC adapter, not included. The battery is drained as long as there is a plug in one of the two input jacks. Silly rabbit, why couldn't it cycle off when no signal flowing for 5-10 minutes (or some similar solution)? I'd be replacing the battery constantly or having to unplug it all the time. (Rest of my setup is all on a single power strip that I can switch on/off easily.) The old Boss FV-200 on loan to me from a friend doesn't require any power source.

While the FC9 can be used to control the volume of two separate instruments, it also features an electronic volume control circuit which makes CV control possible. Output 2 can be switched to function as a CV controller instead of an audio volume controller, and can be plugged into the volume or modulation jack of most synthesizers. For your convenience, the FC-9 also includes a MIN VOL control knob, increasing the minimum volume as you turn the knob, allowing you to narrow the volume range.

I own 3 of these keyboards and they are the greatest electronic musical instruments I have ever come across. There are preprogrammed tunes to play with. You just wave your hands over the tubes and different instruments chime in. You can also control the tempo and volume by waving your hands over the tubes...almost like an orchestra conductor. There's a hookup for your ipod or mp3 player that you can play the music through this instrument and the speakers are great. You can use the keyboard to play tunes that you know and change the instruments from piano to trumpet, drum, organ, guitar, tuba, etc. WooHoo! I love them and so do my grandkids.

Pop/Rock - Note-for-Note Keyboard Transcriptions
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This book is exactly what the title says it is: accurate note-for-note transcriptions of pop/rock songs. It doesn't have the typical cheesy arrangements with the vocal line mixed into the piano part. It also doesn't have guitar songs that don't quite work on the piano. All the songs have prominent piano/keyboard parts, and every one I've tried is faithful to the original. Since the melody is typically not in the piano, you do need to be able to sing along or have a friend who can sing. But the result sounds much, much better than just about any other piano book I've bought. If you like at least a few of the songs in the book, you will not be disappointed!
