(More customer reviews)I bought this stand because I need space for a volume pedal, sustain pedal, and rotary speaker effect on the floor, so the "X" style stands don't work for me. I have been using the "Z" style, but it took a long time to set up. This opens up immediately and is heavy duty. The only tradeoff is that it makes it somewhat awkward to carry, especially if you're not too tall. I put a bungee cord between the legs to keep them from swinging around. There is a little side-to-side play when it is all set up. I also bought the M-92 upper tier separately, and it seems they may have had different versions. The stand has a nut in the bottom of the frame while the second tier has the threads on the side. There was also no tool to adjust the second tier in the kit, but I found a couple metric screws, m8 x1.25 thread and the star drive screwdriver at the hardware store to complete my set up. So far so good.

The holes were not drilled correctly, one of the screws was missing, and the seat never did fit correctly. Thankfully I kept the box and was able to send it back. Went for a more traditional 4 legged bench and we are loving it. We use it with a keyboard.

The provider has allowed him to play with the keyboard. Sometimes he plays on the keyboard for 45 minutes to an hour trying to sing, so when I saw that my first thouught was maybe he likes music so why not cultivate it. I purchased a Yamaha 235 for him for Christmasd and this stand with foot pedel. I was surprised of how sturdy it is and the fact that that he can climb up on the stool and play, he pushes all the buttons to change the music and trys to sing. Now everyday when I get home I encourage him to play and we have singalongs, we dont even turn on that stupid TV. I'm LOVING IT. Buy the way no one in the house knows how to play let long sing but we're learning with Gods help.

(More customer reviews)It's really hard to tell the quality and size of the benches seen online from a simple picture and the numbers quoted (occasionally) in profiles. That being said, this is the second bench I've bought online, the first being proportioned for Golem from LOTR.
This bench is a high quality product. It has a very thick pad for comfort and has an adjustable range set for an averaged sized person which provides for proper posture when playing a standard sized keyboard or piano. Other products may be a little cheaper...but they're also undersized to save on material costs....and they make you play the piano in a very uncomfortable position. Spend a little extra and buy a bench like this, so you'll enjoy your time playing!

(More customer reviews)Looked at MANY piano benches and this has exceeded my expectations for quality, ease of use, wobble free seating and comfort. This bench uses a EZ height adjuster which is essentially a push lever that allows you to very easily move to one of four pre-set height adjustments. What really sets this bench apart from all others though is the ability to micro adjust the height for each individual person. Micro adjusting is done via an easy to use auger type mechanism and provides up to 3 1/4" in additional height adjustment - works great! We have several people who play piano in our family and each needs a different height setting. My 7 and 9 year old children have no problem setting the bench to the height that works for them all by themselves. In terms of comfort the bench has a wide and firm 3" thick cushion. Cushion stitching is done neatly too. Dimensions of the seat are 12.5" x 23.5" rectangular shape. This bench is 2 to 3 times the price of the other similar benches but I feel it is absolutely worth it. Don't second guess because of the price - you get what you pay for and this bench is high quality.

However, the pad that was shipped was not the right size for the bench. After 4 calls and a total of over two hours on the phone I was finally told that they did not carry a pad that fits this bench! I have not been able to find a pad anywhere else for it and I am in the process of boxing everything up - hoping to get a refund.
Update: It has been three months and still no refund. No one in customer service has done what they said they would do and no one has ever offered the slightest apology.

Yamaha Wood Padded Wood Bench for Piano Playing Review

(More customer reviews)This is supposed to match the DGX 630/620 and YPG 635/625 series digital pianos/keyboards. Even though Yamaha "makes" it (they list the WB2 on their site, but probably outsource it), the colors on this are way off from the piano, and do not match the picture. In fact the legs of the bench are actually a different color than the top portion that supports the padding. The legs have a very distinct orange tint that clashes with the top and with the piano, even when viewed from a distance. The top portion is much closer to the correct color, but the manufacturer must have decided to use a cheaper material for the legs. Also, the seat cushion material is not a tan color, as the picture indicates, but instead has a greenish tint to it. I swear I'm not color blind! My wife took one look and thought it was hideous and I'm now returning it. I don't normally do many product reviews, but I really think it's a crime that this says it is a matching bench.
Other than the color, it seems to be very sturdy and well made. That's the only reason it got 2 stars from me instead of one.

This one (KT7800) is a no-frills basic bench. Each leg has 3 holes for the pivot bolt. Height is adjusted by removing the pivot bolt and reinstalling it with two washers through a different pair of holes. This is not difficult, but if the intent is to adjust it several times a day for different members of the family, I'd choose a different style. The advantage of this design is once you set the height, it remains until you intentionally change it.
One side of the scissor base is permanently attached to the seat with brackets that allow it to pivot; the other side fits into 2 c-shaped brackets. To keep the legs from collapsing when you lift the bench off the floor, you hand tighten a bolt across the opening of each c bracket whenever you set it up; the bolts have plastic knobs. This works fine for most applications. But if I were assembling half a dozen of them several times a day, I'd prefer a single lever latch.
The larger KT7800+ has a different design for adjusting height, best understood by going to the onstagestands web site and entering "KT7800+" in the search box. While there, you might also want to take a quick look at the KT7800; Amazon often displays the wrong photo for this bench.
For home use, I'm happy with the KT7800. It's sturdy and comfortable, utilitarian in appearance with decent workmanship (China), folds for storage or travel, sets up and adjusts easily without tools. Cushion is a bit soft -- maybe too soft for playing guitar or other hand-held instruments. A good value.
