Casio PX130 Privia Keyboard with CS67 Keyboard Stand Review

Casio PX130 Privia Keyboard with CS67 Keyboard Stand

I agree with the reviews that discuss the feel and the sound, truly remarkable for such an entry level piano, you could not possibly be disappointed. For $449 up here in Canada it included the stand and the three pedals and a fairly substantial four legged padded stool. The total package is very sturdy if you put it together properly. I have no idea where the $800+ price tag mentioned on this site comes from. I give it five stars and thank Costco for marketing it at a fantastic price, amazing value. Not a toy, not polished ebony, but a really inexpensive entry level digital piano that sounds and feels very impressive. Yes it's a Casio folks, get over it, accept the fact that they have just moved the bar to a new level.

Korg SP250 Digital Piano White Review

Korg SP250 Digital Piano White
Average Reviews:

I cannot distinguish a difference between the sound of this Korg and my Baldwin Hamilton studio piano. The only thing it lacks is a real piano's "oomph". The tone is beautifully rich. The keys respond like the Baldwin, both in touch and sound. It never needs tuning. The keys have the look and feel of a real piano. The sound doesn't fade no matter how many keys are played at the same time.
This keyboard weights around 45 pounds. It isn't really ideal for portability, if that's what you need.
It comes with built-in sounds that can be combined to your taste (choir, organ, strings, etc), as well as a metronome. You can also adjust the tension of the keys to accommodate a light to heavy touch. It does not have a means for internal recording.
The earphone jack is wonderful. You can play this thing at 3 AM and no neighbors will complain. It actually accommodates two sets of earphones.
The stand is very sturdy. No wobble. The keyboard rests squarely on top with no jiggle room. No need to worry about knocking this off the stand.
A metal stabilizing bar rests on the floor and attaches to the bottom of the legs. The sustain pedal hooks over that bar to prevent it from sliding and getting away from you.
The quality cabinet is rich looking.
I've owned this Korg for two months. I haven't touched the Baldwin since I bought it. You might be able to talk me out of my Baldwin studio, but you'll never get my Korg.*** IMPORTANT UPDATE *** 5/24/2010 - This Korg has developed a ringing/vibration in its left speaker. It started a couple months ago, very slight and only occasionally at first, but it has been increasing in both volume and annoyance. It becomes noticeable within 30 minutes of activating the keyboard. It worsens the longer I play.

The SP-250 Digital Piano comes complete with a matching, collapsible stand, internal sound system, and authentic half-damping pedal. The pedal hooks right onto the stand, so it cannot "creep" forward during performance. The RH3 Real Weighted Hammer keyboard provides an authentic, natural piano feel. Thirty sounds - including a dynamic, multi-level concert grand piano - are included, covering everything from electric pianos and organs to more adventurous sounds - marimba, guitar, strings, and choir. Reverb and Chorus effects can add even more character. Ideal for students, the SP250 transposes to any key, and offers a metronome and dual headphone outputs for private lessons.

Casio PX3 Digital Stage Piano Review

Casio PX3 Digital Stage Piano
Average Reviews:

Received my PX-3 from JR Music through Amazon a little over a month ago. It arrived on the date promised with no problems with the packaging or the setup. The PX-3 is what it is; a lightweight, small footprint, digital piano and midi controller. That is what I wanted and I am very happy with it.
It fits on my desk, it is easy to move around, and it is not flimsy. I'm big and play rather heavily and it seems stout enough.
I like the feel of the matte keys and the piano action. The piano samples are good, I don't use the EP tones much but they sound fine to me.
It works my JV-1010, "Band-in- a-Box" and "Power-Tracks" with no problems. Setting up the layers for internal tones and external controls is easy after reading the manual. On the controller side I would have liked knobs, sliders and after-touch. It is possible to change the volume of an individual zone on the fly, but it takes a lot of coordination if I'm playing at the same time. Even given that, as a controller it is a lot easier to set things up on it than my old SL161 and it has the nice piano action.
I received the free gig bag for registering the piano from Casio within a month, it is very nice.

Casio PX330 Privia Digital Piano Keyboard BUNDLE including Furniture Stand, Pedalboard, Bench, Headphones, Dustcover and Book Review

I have only good things to say about my new Casio Previa. I never would've thought I would buy a piano online, but after reading the countless good reviews, I decided to go for it. It arrived four days early, in perfect condition. Not too difficult to assemble. The sound is gorgeous. Truly music to the ears. The touch of the keys is very good. It is very responsive for a digital, and even compared to many good accoustics. I am so glad I switched to digital. Accoustic pianos are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. I had wanted one several years ago, but I'm glad I waited because they are now so much more advanced and durable. The advantages of a digital are undeniable. First of all, the instrument is always in tune. I was always slightly turned off by my accoustic because even after being freshly tuned, it was never quite right to my ear. My new Casio Previa is perfectly in tune and will stay that way! Secondly, it is light and easy to move. If I want to rearrange the room or if I move, no problem. Next, with six pianists in the family, it is invaluable to have a piano that can be played silently or with the volume turned down, so that others need not be disturbed and so that the pianist can practice without knowing everyone is listening to his every mistake. This has made piano playing much more appealing to my children, as has the fact that it's always in tune. Lastly, the wide variety of tones has made this piano a delight. I love playing a piece with it's appropriate instrument. For example, playing minuets with a harpsicord. With rock music, you can totally pizazz it out to make it sound like it should. You cannot do that on an accoustic. My teenage son loves this. He is already learning and recording (on the piano) some Journey pieces, the Rocky soundtrack, and Star Wars soundtrack. They sound great. This piano has really added a lot of fun and interest to our lives. I highly recommend it.

Korg SP170 88-key Digital Slab Piano With Speakers White Review

Korg SP170 88-key Digital Slab Piano With Speakers White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I debated between this, the SP250, Yamaha P85, and the Casio PX-130/330. After trying the Casios and not liking to sound of them, and deciding that the SP250 was a bit expensive and heavy, I had a hard time deciding between the SP170 and P85. Both are excellent and have similar features. The SP170 is a little cheaper and looks a bit sleaker. The P85 has a couple extra functions (like layering and a metronome). I chose the SP170 and have been very happy with my decision. All 10 voices sound great, the speakers are plenty loud, and the keys feel very good, like a real piano. I bought mine online in a "bundle" and am very satisfied with all components.
There are no buttons on the keyboard (just a volume and on/off switch on the back). I was worried that changes voices would be a pain, and while it is slightly awkward, it really is not a big deal. I just wish there was a way to tell if reverb and chorus were on or off.
An excellent digital piano for the price!
