(More customer reviews)I like this Metronome far better than electronic metronomes because I have gone through two electronic metronomes that for some reason just stopped working; so, I decided to go to the old method, and I am far more satisfied with this old style wind up Metronome. WORD OF WARNING: The Metronome slides from the thumb and fingers when picking it up from the top; so, I used Shoegoo for glue, and I glued a strip of velcro on both sides; the velcro was only the spiky part, and I threw the soft velcro away; now, when I pick the metronome up from the top it will not slide through my thumb and finger; otherwise, it is best to pick up the metronome by grabbing it in a palmed fashion. Also, I had some little rubber circles that glue on to the bottom of electronic products to stop them from sliding around; so I glued a little rubber circle on each one of the feet of the Metronome in order to stop it from sliding off of smooth surfaces because it will slide off on a smooth surface! You do not want to drop this precious item; also, do not wind it up very much so that at the end of each use, you can slide the gauge to beat very fast so that it will completely wind down; thus, removing tension on the spring; also, it has a very nice look to it when it is not being used compared to that of some ugly electronic gadget. The sound on this Metronome is a good loud solid wood nock.
